Saco River Health’s Day Habilitation program assists individuals diagnosed with Mental Retardation or Autism in acquiring and developing the basic activities of daily living.

By allowing a person the opportunity to learn, use and practice these skills, it helps them establish and maintain a level of identity and independence within their home and community.

Such skills include:

• Personal Care
• Personal Safety
• Integration Within the Community
• Motor Skills
• Light Housework Duties
• Interpersonal Relationships

This program allows individuals and their families to overcome difficulties by allowing the individual to establish their identities in a positive environment.

Saco River Child and Family Services is a home and community-based program serving the mental health needs of children. Saco River's trained Behavioral Specialists tailor an individualized treatment plan that addresses children's specific needs, including:

• Continual Parent/Care-giver
• Collaboration
• Emphasis on Providing a Therapeutic Environment
• Peer and Social Interaction
• Community Integration
• Continued Reassessment of Client Goals and Objectives

The emphasis of this client centered, strength-based program is to provide a full range of supportive services. It is designed to promote continuity of care, family support, community integration and reduction of negative behavioral symptoms.
